Lately, I’ve been having a lot of coaching conversations with scholars who feel stretched thin—worried about the state of the world, trying to show up for their students and colleagues, and juggling their own research and writing.

If that’s also you, I want to take a moment to say that I see you.

In times like these, it’s easy to feel like we should be doing more—that we should be fixing, advocating, and pushing forward at full speed. On top of that, the pressure to publish our research has not decreased even though many of us are facing threats to funding.

But here's the truth: burning out will not help us win our fight. It will be won through care—care for ourselves, for one another, and for the work that truly matters.
