We frequently hear that writing is revising, but one thing has become abundantly clear to me over the years: arguments, in particular, only improve through writing and rewriting, and rewriting again.

In my own process, I use a checklist to make sure my arguments are well structured at the revision stage. (At the drafting stage, I am much more freeflowing while I’m working through ideas.) It guides me through essential questions like whether my evidence supports my claims and if my argument’s significance is articulated.

If you’d like to dive deeper into building strong, argument-driven manuscripts, check out my self-paced course, Developing Arguments in Humanistic and Qualitative Research.

I’m sharing a copy of the checklist included in my arguments course for paid subscribers. It’s a practical resource to refine your work and boost your confidence before submission.

Thanks as always for your support, dear readers! It means so much to me.
