Greetings, dear readers, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I’m naturally a procrastinator.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a tendency to put off tasks that feel daunting or hard. And if I’m being honest, it’s because I like to avoid negative feelings. When I don’t feel positive about something I’m writing, my go-to move is often to push it to the side.
Sound familiar?
This habit stuck with me well into graduate school, where I realized that procrastination didn’t just delay my work—it also came with a lot of baggage: stress, guilt, and frustration. Those feelings piled up and eventually nudged me to find practical ways to manage my procrastination.
While I still procrastinate sometimes (and even strategically procrastinate—but that’s a post for another day), I’ve learned how to tackle it in ways that reduce stress, build momentum, and actually help me get things done.
These hard-earned lessons are one of the reasons I founded PNP and my coaching business. I don’t want others to struggle like I did!
To provide more specific strategies, I created this free guide: Write More, Worry Less: Practical Tips to Manage Procrastination. It’s packed with the simple strategies I’ve learned over the years that can help you get unstuck, reclaim your focus, and move forward with less stress and more action.
To get the guide, all you need to do is sign up for Jenn McClearen Coaching emails. You’ll get updates about upcoming courses, events, and resources to support your writing journey. And don’t worry—you can unsubscribe anytime if it’s not for you.
If you are a natural procrastinator who wants to stop feeling stressed or guilty about writing, my best advice for you today is to believe that you, too, can learn to manage it. Sure, it takes some effort, but it is well worth it! I am living proof that it is possible, and I hope this guide helps get you started.
I can’t wait to hear how these tips help you write more and worry less!
