I love the "find your jiu-jitsu" phrase at the end. So much of writing is a process of struggle (perhaps strangle is a more appropriate word here) against yourself and the outer forces of the world that weigh on you. The stress of day-to-day strangles and stifles creativity. "Protect yo neck" is a phrase we often hear in jiu-jitsu. In writing, we could extend that to "protect yo text," meaning we should guard our words and flow against both the inner critic and the outer stressors. Just a thought. Great post, Jenn.
