Online Writing Sprint: Nov. 27-Dec. 1
Mark your calendars and join us for a 5-day asynchronous writing sprint!
Back by Popular Demand!
Our first-ever online asynchronous writing sprint was a resounding success this summer, and I’m thrilled to announce its return! This is your golden opportunity to conquer that project that's been lingering on the back burner all term.
Are you ready to transform your writing goals into accomplishments? The PNP Five-Day Writing Sprint is your ticket to unleashing creativity, fostering accountability, and achieving those lingering writing goals.
The Details
What is it?
A flexible online writing retreat centered around SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound), consistent check-ins, and facilitated group discussions, fostering a supportive community for productive writing.
When is it?
November 27-December 1
Who can participate?
Any reader with a paid PNP subscription as of 11:59 p.m. CST on November 26th. Because the retreat is asynchronous, you can attend from any time zone.
Do I have to work full-time for the entire five days?
No, you can choose how much time you want to devote to writing on any of the days. If you have other plans or have other commitments, you can adjust your SMART goals for the 5-day sprint accordingly.
It’s extremely flexible! The main focus will be on creating smart goals that you can achieve even with your other commitments.
What is the schedule or commitment for the days you participate?
Check-In 1: You will respond to a daily prompt sent overnight CST about what you want to achieve for the day and any other questions posed by the facilitator.
Writing Period: You will work on your project for a period of time that you set for the day. For some of us, this may mean 7 hours, and for some of us, this may mean 30 minutes. “Writing” means anything associated with the project, such as reading, note-taking, brainstorming, outlining, drafting, editing, proofreading, etc.
Check-in 2: You will reflect on what you achieved for the day, troubleshoot any challenges, and write a comment on at least one other person’s check-in for the day.
What platform will we use to check-in?
We will use the threads function on the Substack platform, which will be visible only to paid PNP subscribers.
How do you participate?
Comment below to let us know you are in and what you would like to do with the time! All paid subscribers will get the check-in prompts each day.
I'd like to participate in this writing sprint. I am working on a review and resubmit and a new manuscript, so it would be great to have a community of support as I work on these projects.
I’m eager to try this writing sprint — I’m struggling with the opening chapter of my book (its a monster) and would like to have a basic draft in place before the winter break.
