Monday's post was a bit somber because I discussed the pressure to do unpaid and underpaid work in academia, which can feel insurmountable and demoralizing.
While these issues should be addressed structurally, I do believe that individuals can exert some agency against this exploitative system. Today, I am going to talk about some mindsets and strategies that can help people navigate the pressure to overwork while being underpaid, with a focus on PhD students.
